This 2025 ICOS Belgium Science conference is hosted by Ghent University and will take place at De Krook Library.
Within the ICOS Belgium network, Ghent University plays a key role through its expertise on greenhouse gas fluxes in tropical ecosystems.
The university coordinates the Yangambi ICOS station in the Democratic Republic of Congo - one of the few tropical stations in the world - providing crucial data to better understand carbon dynamics in these highly sensitive and understudied regions.

The ICOS Belgium Science Conference 2025 will take place at the De Krook Public Library in Ghent, in the meeting rooms De Blauwe Vogel and Vos & Haas. All rooms are located on floor -1.
Directional signage will be provided from the main entrance on the day of the event.

Traveling by public transport or bike
De Krook is easily accessible by public transport from both Gent-Sint-Pieters and Gent-Dampoort train stations. Trams and buses connecting the two stations stop at halte “Zuid”, just a 200 m walk from the library. Plan your trip via the website of De Lijn.
Bike parking is available beneath Miriam Makebaplein, on levels -1 and -2. Please note: Bikes may not be parked on the main square in front of the library entrance.
Travelling by car
De Krook has no on-site parking. The nearest option is Parking Zuid (100 m), easy accessible via the highway and Ghent’s city ring. Other nearby paid garages include Parking Kouter (500 m) and Parking Sint-Pietersplein (950 m).
Please note that some parking facilities may be located within Ghent’s Low-Emission Zone (LEZ). Make sure to check your vehicle’s compliance and the entry requirements in advance.
